For Aspiring Professional Barbers or Stylists

Our barber academic program and curriculum are designed to teach barbering skills as well as provide you with the knowledge they need to maintain a successful business. We offer you an opportunity for exposure to modern products and styling techniques and to become a licensed barber or stylist.

Barber Academic Program

This program is 1500 hours in length. It is designed for individuals that have no experience in barbering but desire to work as a licensed barber or stylist or become barber shop owners or managers in the State of Indiana.

Manicuring Program

This program is 600 hours in length. Its primary purpose is to train the student in manipulative skills, safety judgments, proper work habits, and desirable attitudes necessary to achieve competency in entry-level jobs. Expect assistance as you prepare for licensure and gainful employment as a manicurist as well as a salon owner or manager.

Teachers’ Training Course

This program is 1000 clock hours in length. It will prepare you for licensing to effectively teach all facets of cosmetology or barbering in the state of Indiana.

Cosmetology Program

This program is 1500 hours in length. It is designed to train students’ basic manipulative skills, safety judgment abilities, proper work habits, and desirable attitudes. All of these are necessary when you want to achieve competency in entry-level jobs. We equip you for obtaining licensure and gainful employment as a licensed cosmetologist, salon owner, or manager.

Financial Aid Options for Our Programs

Pell Grant

This federal program provides non-repayable grants to students based upon an analysis of their family's needs. Pell grant eligibility is determined by a standard formula and a federal need analysis. This is an annual award, and applications must be submitted each year.

Federal Direct Loan

The William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program offers low-interest educational loans that must be paid back. The funding for these loans comes directly from the federal government. Our institution offers Federal Direct Subsidized Loans and Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loans.
